By my bedside is a journal given to me by a coaching client.
I treasure it. It’s called “My Daily Momentum Book” and on the front cover it says:
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.”
In it I write what:
- Strengthens my family,
- Expresses my heart and soul,
- Gets me healthier,
- Helps me build a successful and thriving business,
- Grows me as a leader,
- Shows my gratitude, and
- I’ve learned about myself.
As a tribute to 2011, I thought I’d share some of my favourite entries from the year.
I’m thankful for…
- My spirit. My heart. My soul.
- The air I breathe and the water I drink.
- My precious life.
- My loving and honourable husband.
- Kisses and hugs from my son Keane.
- My Dad telling me he loved me just before he died.
- My beautiful Mom who has found a way to love life, after losing her partner of 50 years.
- The beauty of resilience and strength in beauty.
- Conviction.
- The women I help be heard, be free and prosper.
- My caring, self-aware and heartfelt son.
- Freedom.
- My Sycamore leadership tribe, a.k.a. the Seek-Amores.
- Not having to ask for permission.
- The safety and cleanliness of my community.
- Vivid memories of my father, a caring man with an infectious giggle.
- My generous mentors who believe in me.
- 90-minute massages.
- My courage, inner strength and determination, even on the tough days.
- The miracle of being a mother myself.
- My sisters.
- The power and strength of a woman’s voice – to be heard and known for something, to speak her message from her mind, heart and soul.
- Being able to skate.
- Courageous patience.
- The way my heart melts when my son looks at me with those big, brown eyes.
- Being able to live my life purpose each day.
- Being able to share who I am with others.
- Independence.
- Learning.
- My precious health.
- How could I forget… Lululemon because that’s what I get to wear to work each day. LOL

Hi Nadine
Right now I’m massively grateful to my husband who’s downstairs designing my beautiful site. The other one is YOU. I’ve spent the day doing taxes and I’m so grateful to your idea which I am now going to implement… 12 monthly folders, spreadsheets that work for me and consistency. Love Vanessa
Thanks for the note Vanessa! I will always remember co-leading our workshop in the UK with you. We rocked it at the Royal Automobile Club! I am so grateful to you too. Congratulations on taking care of your business’s ‘back end’. LOL. Merry Christmas xoxoxo
